Chelsea Medalists

.

Our medal winning designs at Chelsea have simulated dramatic situations in rainforest settings, featuring in 1999 a crashed aeroplane, surrounded by Alocasia macrorrhiza, Musa Raja Puri, Caladium Red Flash and Alocasia Green Velvet.

All plants were chosen from the extensive displays in our nursery.

This was our first ever show entry and we were awarded a Silver Gilt Medal.

In 2000, we won the GOLD MEDAL.

Our design focused on a dramatic waterfall created from rocks shipped from Miami flanked by 25 ft tall Christmas palms which brushed the roof of the new marquee.

We imported 30 tons of soil and planted 37 palms and 200 bromeliads alongside Medinilla magnifica, Musa Jamaican Red and Alocasia macrorrhiza.

We were awarded a SILVER medal in 2005.

Our theme was based on a tropical Malay garden set in a rainforest environment, including a typical Malay hut.

Palms were imported from Malaysia to complete our dramatic display.

At the Nursery
Our stunning waterfall at the nursery  surrounded by Phyllostachys nigra and Phyllostachys aurea looks good all year round even though it is in an extremely exposed position. Constructed in oak, water falls over a large stone set behind an unusual blue slate mulch.

We can design and build imaginative water features, large or small, to suit any location.
